Sunday's Silly Little Kid Says

I love when young kids supplement one word in a sentence for another that they use frequently.
Tiffany is her Aunt.. she's never had bacon at her house before.

While on the way to go out to eat breakfast Nadia turns to her sisters and this is the conversation;
Nadia says in a tone as if bragging: "Tiffany's has bacon..."
Us: "huh who has bacon?" ::looks around for someone with bacon::
Nadia with some annoyance replies again:  "Tiffany's has bacon.  Duh! Where we go to eat breakfast."
Me: ::puzzle over what she could mean::  "Oh you mean Denny's."
Nadia:  I said that... ::eyes roll::  "They have lots of bacon."

I should have realized by this conversation what she had planned to have for breakfast.  She ate her bacon and very little else.

The Box of Awesomeness

What could be inside this box of total awesomeness?

Is that what I think it is?

It's a Lobster Tail Pastry from my favorite little bakery in town.
Albina's Italian American Bakery

Crisp layers of flaky pastry crust filled with a Bavarian Cream
(Photo is slightly blurry because I'd rather be eating it.)
If you ever get the chance to visit Las Vegas the wonderful treats at their bakery is worth every mile traveled.

I will miss this bakery the most when we move to our new home.

My Vacuum Doesn't Suck

My wonderful vacuum was purchased just last year and I've loved every minute of owning it.  I got a great deal on the price by ordering from the Germ Guardian website rather than buying it from walmart.  It worked perfectly for almost a full year.  Even with at least two different kids trying to ride it or conquer it in some way every chance they get.

One evening during movie night Maxx was terrorizing his sisters.  I had purchased these new Orville Redenbacher popcorn pop up bowls special for this night.  They were awesome, No extra dirty dishes.  The one draw back is once Maxx got a hold of one he had the popcorn flung in a 2 foot wide swath across the front room.  (it took less than 3 seconds for the destruction)   I got out my beloved vacuum and let Morgan start cleaning it up while I got Maxx ready for bed.  She was doing a wonderful job getting the mess cleaned, but the higher pitched noise coming from the vacuum went unnoticed.  The hose was clogging up with popcorn.  Suddenly the vacuum shut off and would not turn back on.

I wanted to cry and scream. I did not want to have to shop for another vacuum.   I loved all the extras on mine. I sent an email off to customer service for Germ Guardian.  The very next day there was an email waiting for me when I woke up.
My vacuum is even more awesome then I knew it was.  Not only does it convert from a standard push vacuum into a canister vacuum.  It also come equipped with a thermal reset button.  Basically if the vacuum starts overheating it will trip the button instead of damaging the internal workings.  After a short 30 minute cool down you press the small button and it's back to business as usual.

My vacuum doesn't suck.. it ROCKS!  Everyday I am glad I purchased it rather than another Dirt Devil in a long line of deceased cleaning tools.  I highly recommend the Germ Guardian line of products from their humidifiers, UV light sanitizers, to the vacuums.  They have excellent customer service and amazingly wonderful products.

Packing and Moving

It feels like we just got here and yet it is already time to move.  3 years spent building memories and growing our family.  We are now faced with a family too large for our small space.  It was a tight squeeze when we moved in due to the lack of storage and now we are bursting at the seams.

I have already found the house I want to move to.  The bedrooms are smaller but instead of 3 we will have 4 of them.  As well as having a lot more storage.  I also fell in love with the open layout of the downstairs and the extra half bath.  Plus the kitchen is just amazing.(it was a deal breaker with other places)  Granite counters, cherry wood cabinets and flooring.  ::drool::  I just might dream of rolling out some pies on that counters as I sleep tonight.
::prays nothing goes wrong in the application process::
I'm a worrier.. I can't help it, I've tried.

I have been slowly wrapping and packing all my breakables and purely decorative items over the past few weeks.  My walls are bare of picture frames and my china hutch is minus all the many serving plates.   All the papers that we have collected over the past three years have been sorted, stored or shredded.  ( I use the shredded paper to help protect my breakables)

I am only limited on what I already have packed by the amount of boxes I have.  We usually just use the big plastic storage tubs for the majority of our packing.  The tubs work great for long term storage without worrying about water damage or pests.

I have never been so excited to actually pack all my family's worldly belongings up as I am this move.  I still have the anxiety of new schools for the kids, utilities to sort out, and doing something special to help make the kids excited about the new house.  They want to start a garden and get a dog.

I am most thrilled by all the storage at the new place.  Being the anal retentive person that I am I have our clothing separated by seasonal requirements.  Not all of the 4 different seasons just the two we see here in Las Vegas.  (summer and winter)  I also love decorating for the seasons.  Now my many boxes of decorations will no longer have to take up room in my bedroom closet or force us to climb into the sketchy looking attic to retrieve them.

There are so many big changes going on in my life right now.  A new business, moving to a new house, and One Nutty Mama blog has moved to a personal domain.

For the Love of Scents

If you have noticed lately there have been a big change in my life.   I recently became a Scentsy consultant.
I have always loved candles.  I always felt that smell is a big part of the ambiance of any space.  My biggest drawback with traditional candles has been the scorching wax (I'm a klutz)and I love to have different options in smells.

I was introduced to Sentsy months ago by a close friend.  At first I was pretty doubtful. "Yeah, Yeah a candle warmer, what's so special about that?"  Little did I know just how awesome they are.  I kept hearing more and more of all the great things about the products that I finally just had to buy some.  I talked to my husband about it almost non stop for weeks.   How they are safer for those with breathing problems because they do not burn, instead they melt at a low temperature.  The temperature is so low that if you spill it on yourself(remember the klutzy part)it doesn't burn, it instead feels like a melted parafin hand wax treatment.

Once we got our tax refund back he told me to just order the big sampler so we can try it all.  At this point he was getting pretty excited by the products and we decided that with how much we loved candles (to our detriment)  that I should become an independent Scentsy consultant.

When my first order was delivered everyone in the house was excited.  I immediately got out my Tiki Fullsize warmer (very fun design) and put in three little cubes of My Wish scent (Fig, sweet violet, and marshmallow) As the scent filled the house I was kicking myself for all the candles I burned in the past.  This was all the good things about candles without the danger of an open flame.

Then I plugged the Sand Dollar Plug-in inside the main bathroom and placed only 1 cube of Clarity(Rosemary, Thyme, Citron leaves, and Lemon)  Everyone loved it.  The warmer itself puts off a very beautiful glow when plugged in and the herb citrus scent of the warming wax made it smell fresh and clean inside the stuffy bathroom.

My husband chose to plug in the Zeus full-size warmer in our bedroom and warm the scent Peligro (like a woody spicy men's cologne)  It was the perfect scent for our bedroom.  It reminds me a lot of my husband's favorite colognes. (They all have a basic woody/spicy blend, but each with distinct differences)

This isn't the only way to get you scents though.  They have scents circles, scent tins, room sprays, alcohol free(important if you've ever sanitized your hands with a paper cut) anti bacterial foaming hand fragrance, and Scentsy Buddy's stuffed with your choice of scent pak.(for the kids to experience scentsy without melting wax involved)
I've tried them all and LOVE them all.  Well, scentsy buddy's are on the way still because I ordered them separate, but the kids are so excited.  Not only do they have the wonderful smelling buddy but there is a Scentsy Buddy's website to play games and print off your adoption certificate, as well as other printables.

Interested in more info about Scentsy?  Feel free to ask me.

Sunday's Silly Little Kid Says

Frog Hands!

When Nadia has to wear her gloves she always exclaims
"Look Mom, I got frog hands!"

I never thought of the way little kid's gloves make their fingers look webbed.  I love experiencing a toddler's observations on the world.  It's moments like this that fill up my mother's tank.

This would have been great during the past almost 11 months of nursing Maxx. He is a pincher, puller, slapper, grabber, kicker.  He's split my lip and bloodied my nose before.  There are many times when a nursing session dissolves into me wrestling his hands and feet from abusing me.
